British Bee'ah recently installed the first batch of abandoned light bulb recycling machines in the Middle East in the UAE. The entire project will start in Sharjah and eventually spread throughout the UAE.
Bee'ah installed recycling machines are capable of recycling all types of household light bulbs, including incandescent bulbs, energy saving lamps and LED lights. The machine's video recognition system automatically identifies the type of light that is being recycled, and the user only needs a simple operation to complete the recycling process. Upon completion, the user can choose to donate the proceeds to some charitable organizations or get a paid receipt to redeem the benefits at the designated location.
This project will help reduce the toxic substances in the landfills of the UAE. Beehah Group CEOKhaled AlHuraimel said the project will also help to build Sharjah into an environmentally friendly capital in the Middle East and to be the first landfill-free city.
