TVs that "think like people" are no longer just a concept. On platforms like Jingdong Mall, many TVs labeled as "AI" offer voice control, but not all can accurately process commands or respond quickly. In reality, users often still rely on remote controls to switch channels or access content, revealing a gap between marketing claims and actual performance.
"Pseudo-intelligence undermines user trust and damages the industry's reputation," said Chen Keyu, a product manager at Changhong CHiQ TV. He emphasized that while voice control is a basic feature, true AI should go beyond that. By using deep learning, AI-enabled TVs can adapt to user behavior, learn preferences, and evolve over time—this is the core of AI in the television industry.
The voiceprint recognition AI TV from Changhong offers strong technical support, including far-field voice recognition that works up to five meters away. Users can issue commands without needing a remote, making it easier to switch channels, watch live broadcasts, stream popular shows, or play games. Additionally, these TVs can personalize content based on user voice data, using big data analysis to understand speech patterns and correct errors in real-time.

Changhong has been a pioneer in integrating AI into home appliances. In 2016, it launched the world’s first AI TV, paving the way for other brands to follow. Since then, AI-powered refrigerators, air conditioners, and more have emerged, proving that AI is becoming a standard in home electronics.
Artificial intelligence is now the most anticipated technology in the TV industry. Before AI TVs, Internet TVs dominated the market, offering a wide range of applications. According to a survey by the China Consumer Electronics Survey Office, 38% of consumers considered AI the hottest technology in 2017, surpassing OLED (22%) and quantum dots (12%). This highlights the growing demand for AI-driven devices and their promising future.
At the World Intelligence Conference in Tianjin, officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology announced plans to promote AI as a key driver of the next technological and industrial revolution. Experts also noted that AI is evolving toward deeper learning, cross-industry integration, and more seamless human-machine collaboration, signaling a new era of intelligent development.
