Vishay Releases New Liquid Helium Capacitor

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has recently launched a groundbreaking high-energy liquid tantalum capacitor called the EP1, specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of aerospace applications. This new offering stands out in the market by delivering the highest capacitance values for each voltage class and form factor, making it an ideal choice for engineers seeking top-tier performance. The EP1 comes in three distinct form factors—A, B, and C—each available with radial through-hole or surface-mount terminations. These options provide greater design flexibility, allowing engineers to choose the best configuration for their specific application. Additionally, all form factors include screw mounting options, enhancing mechanical stability in critical environments. Built using Vishay’s proven SuperTan technology, the EP1 offers capacitances ranging from 2000μF to 30,000μF and voltage ratings between 25VDC and 125VDC. The A-profile variant, for instance, achieves an impressive 13,000μF at 50VDC, surpassing the nearest competitor by 18%. This level of performance makes the EP1 a strong contender in high-reliability systems. Capacitors are available with standard ±20% tolerance or a tighter ±10% option, ensuring precision in critical applications.
