For the longest LED life, it is important to reduce power consumption. In both methods, the use of a resistor or linear regulator as a fixed heat source significantly reduces the life of the LED.

Another equally simple method is to make a long single series string and use a single power source that produces a high voltage DC stabilized current source. The high-voltage operation of this method will reach the 60VDC or 42V RMS safe low voltage (SELV) level, and the lighting equipment or accessories must be approved by the safety mechanism, thus making the same motor design The flexibility of other applications is greatly reduced.

Another consideration in the single string method is reliability. If only one LED is turned on, the light output of the entire lighting device is released. Although many arc-extinguishing circuits or devices can be added to control the opening of each LED, this adds cost and complexity to the luminaire.
