Western Digital Releases WD Se Enterprise NAS Hard Drive Recently, Western Digital released a new WD Se series hard drive for market segments, designed specifically to expand the deployment of data centers. WD se's greatest feature is its high reliability and long-term operation. It is built on an enterprise-class platform that supports the latest SATA 6Gbps specifications, 64MB cache, and a speed of 7200rpm. Ideal for 24x7x365 uninterrupted data center use.

WD stated that WD Se series drives are well-balanced in terms of performance, high reliability of large-scale replication environments, medium-sized network attached storage deployment (NAS), and backup/archive applications. This series of products has undergone at least 5 million hours of functional and thermal testing, and more than 20 million hours of server and storage systems are really load tests.

In terms of capacity, WD Se will offer 2TB (WD2000F9YZ), 3TB (WD3000F9YZ), and 4TB (WD4000F9YZ) three-capacity models with retail prices ranging from $159.99 to $309.99 (about $980-1900), all models will enjoy 5 Year warranty.

This WD Se is mainly supplemented by WD Red products for small and medium-sized NAS systems, while WD Se, WD Red, WD Xe, and WD Re will be the Western Digital Xe and Re series for the high-end NAS market. Form a complete NAS enterprise hard disk solution.

Incidentally, Seagate’s previous NAS HDD also appeared in Japan’s Akibahara Market, but it has not yet officially released.
