US IP consulting company sues Apple iPhone for infringing its patents

According to foreign media reports on December 5, the United States St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants (St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants) to the United States District Court of Delaware sued the Apple iPhone for infringing the company's four digital camera patents.

St. Clair claims that Apple ’s iPhone camera infringed the company ’s four patents '459,' 219, '010 and' 899.

This is not the first time St. Clair has filed a lawsuit against a digital camera patent. The company also sued Sony and Canon for infringement of the above patents in 2001 and 2003, respectively, and received compensation of USD 25 million and USD 34 million, respectively. After this, the company sued the world's major digital camera manufacturers, including Fuji, Kyocera, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus and Casio. Samsung, Panasonic, Nokia, HP, Kodak, LG, Motorola, RIM and Palm have not been spared.

Most of the companies sued have signed patent licensing agreements with St. Clair.

St. Clair hopes that the prosecution of Apple will enter the jury trial process and get compensation.
