In order to ensure flight safety and avoid any delays in aerial photography, Xiao Bian has compiled the "Comprehensive Guide to Applying for the Lifting of the No-Fly Zone Ban for DJI Drones" as a reference for professionals involved in drone operations. It's important to note that no-fly zone policies vary by region, so this guide is provided as an example to help you understand the general process of lifting a ban.
DJI Drone No-Fly Zone Unlocking Steps:
1. Before applying for a ban lift or permission from local authorities, send an email to the official DJI support mailbox. If your request involves lifting the ban, DJI will respond with the required process via email.
2. Download the file attached in the email, fill it out according to the instructions, affix the necessary seals, and submit it to the relevant public security department. Then upload all required documents to the temporary link provided in the email.
3. You can apply for the ban lift within one week, and once approved, log in to DJI-GO using the same email account. Once logged in, the aircraft should display the lifted ban status, allowing normal operation.
For more detailed instructions, please refer to the video tutorials and official documentation on the DJI website. These restrictions are for informational purposes only—always check local regulations before flying.
If you have obtained approval from the local authority, you must upload the following information on the application page. DJI supports all current models:
1. Organizational information, such as a copy of the three certificates (for government agencies, see point 2).
2. A copy of the government approval document (such as a letter or document approved by local air traffic control, the Air Force Commission, or the public security department).
3. A copy of the user’s ID card.
4. Sign and stamp the disclaimer.
5. Sign and stamp the confidentiality agreement.
6. Provide the latitude and longitude coordinates of the area to be unblocked (without the radius).
7. The serial number of the drone.

Please note: Only the email used to apply for the ban lift can be used to log in to DJI-GO after the ban is removed. Changing your account will result in being banned again.
The temporary link in the email opens as shown (only compatible with Google Chrome):

Below are five files that need to be uploaded, corresponding to the steps outlined. All files must be valid and complete.
There are templates for five application documents included in the email. We’ll go over each one in detail.

When selecting the area to be unblocked, make sure to choose a location within a 30km radius.

You can apply for up to 10 different locations on the same drone at once.
The ban lift is valid for 3 months, meaning that the 10 designated areas can be flown in for the next 10 months.
What Are the Five Required Documents?
1. Government Approval
This is one of the most critical parts of the application. Without government approval, the ban cannot be lifted.
Government approval requires a description of the purpose of the flight, which must be stamped by the local public security office. It's recommended that the party requesting the aerial work (Party A) applies, rather than the operator (Party B).

This document is straightforward. It simply needs to state the reason for the flight, be stamped by the company, and submitted with two official seals.
2. Organizational Information (e.g., Business License)
Companies, studios, or institutions conducting aerial photography must submit this document. Government departments only require approval documents.

3. Copy of User’s ID Card
This is a standard requirement for all applicants.
4. Disclaimer
This form is simple—just fill it out and sign it as instructed.

5. Confidentiality Agreement
Another straightforward form that requires signing and stamping.

After uploading these five essential files, you should receive a confirmation email from DJI within a week. Be sure to apply well in advance to allow enough time for processing.
How to Operate the Aircraft After the Ban Is Lifted
Notes on Lifting the Ban:
1. Always use the original email address associated with the ban lift to log into DJI-GO and operate the drone.
2. Ensure there is a stable internet connection to upload and download data before the ban is lifted.
3. GPS signal must be strong (at least 7 satellites) to successfully unlock the drone.
4. Use DJI GO 4 version 4.0.5. Avoid automatic updates; if your device is set to update automatically, disable this feature.

Unblocking Process:
1. Connect the remote controller to your phone or tablet via USB. Turn on the remote, open the app, and power on the drone. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the first screen.

2. On the second screen, click the "Clear Buffer" button. This will enable the unlock function.
3. After enabling the unlock, a list of unblocked areas will appear. Select the one you need based on your task.

4. Choose the desired latitude and longitude coordinates. Refresh the list to ensure accuracy.

5. Once the selected area turns green, you're ready to fly!
Now you can fly freely! However, always double-check local regulations and communicate clearly with the relevant authorities to avoid any issues.
Key Points to Remember:
1. You cannot apply under your own name.
2. It's best for Party A (the client requiring aerial work) to apply. If they can't, Party B (the aerial service provider) can apply, but both parties must provide the necessary information.
3. Apply at least two weeks in advance to avoid delays in your shooting schedule.
By following these steps and maintaining clear communication with local authorities, you can safely and efficiently operate your DJI drone in restricted areas. Always prioritize safety and compliance.
