Xylon launches ADAS IP core based on Xilinx Zynq SoC

At present, major technology companies are developing autonomous vehicles, such as Google, SpaceX, Audi have developed car prototypes, can automatically change lanes on the road, automatically turn to the side of the parking, and even automatically enter the basement to complete parking and other functions. . The most important thing to achieve automatic driving is the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which not only can sense the surrounding environment at any time while the car is running, collect data, perform static, dynamic object identification, detection and tracking, and implement the system. The calculations and analysis, so that the driver is aware of the dangers that may occur in advance.

Of course, ADAS also needs to be able to monitor the driver's behavior, be able to respond to the driver's request or alert the driver to the attention. Xylon, an electronics company focused on FPGA design, has grown to become an outstanding provider of intellectual property (IP) in embedded graphics, video and networking since its inception in 1995. Xylon recently launched the ADAS IP core based on the Xilinx Zynq SoC, logiDROWSINE, which monitors the driver's tiredness and some inconspicuous expression on the face. This IP core can process the images captured by the video camera in real time, analyze the driver's eyes, eyes, eyebrows, lips and head movements in real time, yawn, and continuously track the driver's facial expressions to analyze whether the driver is in the micro. Sleep state. In short, the logiDROWSINE IP can recognize the driver's seven different levels of drowsiness. When it determines that the driver's attention is not concentrated, it will notify the relevant ADAS system to take relevant measures, such as audible alarms or vibrating seats.

Xylon also offers an IP core application demo for real-world test cars. The camera is equipped with an infrared sensitizing device, which can monitor the driver's facial movements in real time even in the dark state. Even if the driver wears eyes or sunglasses, it will not affect the monitoring. It can also recognize the driver's eyes, eyebrows, blinking and other movements.

The implementation of logiDROWSINE IP uses the PL and PS resources of the Zynq SoC. Complete driver drowsiness monitoring SoC-level system resources include not only the logiDROWSINE IP core, but also other IP resources such as the logiFDT (face monitoring and tracking) IP core, which can be ported to the Zynq SoC. These IP cores have been integrated into the Xilinx Vivado development software, along with documentation and technical support.
