After the price decline in 2012, the phosphor market has formed a basic market structure. With the support of Fujian Province and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chen Xueyuan's research team cooperated with the research team of Liu Ruzhen of Taiwan University to successfully prepare a new type of high-efficiency warm white LED red phosphor with ion exchange method.

The red phosphors successfully prepared by the research team are suitable for excitation of blue light chips, and the luminous efficiency at room temperature is 98%, which is superior to most existing red phosphors and has good fluorescence thermal stability. At the same time, the ion exchange preparation method developed is simple in process, can be prepared at room temperature and normal pressure, and the raw material price is cheap, so it has a good market application prospect. The research has been published online in the internationally renowned journal Nature Communications and has applied for two Chinese invention patents.
