I met a girl once. We chatted, and it felt like something out of a movie. But as the sun rose, reality hit hard. Well, this is reality. Right here, this is a line spoken by Elva Salvatore, an actress from "The Vampire Diaries." The memory is still vivid, so I revisited the show. I've always been fascinated by Western vampires. They're immune to the cold, they don't age, and most importantly, they don't lose their good looks when those pesky hounds come around. If given the chance, I'd love to be reborn as one.

It wasn't summer break. Staying at home was getting boring, so I asked my dad for a budget. With my cousin, we decided to host our own little DIY project. As a vampire enthusiast, how could I not incorporate some vampire-themed elements?

The final result is a machine filled with red light pollution elements, a vampire's favorite color – the hue of blood. This is the theme of this installation: to surround everything with shades of red.

The finished product has a strong red light pollution theme, which is perfect for a vampire-inspired setup.

Red Material 1 features an impressive red breathing effect.

Red Material 2 combines Dylan 570 X-Serial X-belief lights with three glowing red fans underneath.

Red Material 3 complements the setup with additional glowing red fans.
This single configuration shows the significant differences between various setups. Prices for electronic products fluctuate, so this gives you a general idea.

The ASRock X370 Killer SLI motherboard (AMD X370/AM4 Socket) caught my attention due to its affordability and robust features. It uses the AMD X370 chipset and supports AM4 processors. The motherboard comes with an IR 12-phase digital power supply and Nichicon 12K black gold capacitors. It has two M.2 SSD slots, one of which is the PCI-E 3.0 x4 channel provided by the processor. The audio section includes Nichicon sound capacitors.
The price was my primary reason for choosing this motherboard, especially since it’s under a thousand dollars. Features like the 12-phase power supply, a sleek black and white color scheme, and the inclusion of a CPU cooling module make it a solid choice. However, it lacks the classic red and black color combination.

Two M.2 slots, two PCI E slots, and metal armor protection add to its durability.

In the I/O area, familiar ports like USB 3.0 and PS/2 are present. A white cover protects these ports.

The Ruilong AMD Ryzen 7 1700X processor is an 8-core AM4 interface CPU running at 3.4GHz. Built using a 14nm process, the Ryzen series includes the Ryzen 7 1700, 1700X, and 1800X. The 1700X has a thermal design power (TDP) of 95W. Its eight-core, sixteen-thread design, combined with the new 14nm process, makes it highly efficient.
The Ruilong 1700X has been a game-changer in the CPU market. Since its release, it has consistently outperformed Intel in many benchmarks. The price has dropped significantly, now hovering around $2K, making it a great option for rendering tasks.

ADATA XPG Light Bar Memory DDR4 2400 16GB Kit (8GBx2) with red appearance and red breathing light effects caught my eye. While GALAXY also offers a similar breathing light effect, I find ADATA's design more appealing.

Dataland RX 570 4G X-Serial Warrior graphics card with 1244-1270/7000MHz and 4GB/256-bit GDDR5 memory fits my theme perfectly. The black and red color scheme, along with redä¿¡ä»° lights, aligns well with my installation theme. Although the price on JD was originally 1799 yuan, I managed to get it for 1899 yuan, which is acceptable given the recent rise in Bitcoin prices.

The back of the graphics card is equally impressive, maintaining the black and red color scheme.

There are X-belief lights, but only in constant light mode, which is a minor drawback.

For the power supply, I went with HuntKey's MVP K650W. While Antec options are also great, this one suits my personal preferences. The 1700X has a TDP of 95W, and the Dylan RX 570 X-SERIAL is around 150W. A power supply with a rating over 450W is sufficient, but the +12V power supply should exceed 300W.

HuntKey 650W K650 power supply (rated gold efficiency, single 54A, half modular, 14cm fan, LLC resonant) costs 589 yuan.

IN WIN 303 Black Red Mid-Tower Case (supports ATX motherboard, water cooling, tempered glass, side-panel, U2.0x2+U3.0x2) costs 659 yuan.
I chose this case primarily based on its appealing renderings. The actual installation looks great too. All the accessories fit perfectly, including six RGB fans. Wiring everything took some effort, but the remaining space allows room for future additions, such as dolls or additional radiators. Installation is straightforward, though the screws can be tricky to secure.

Once powered on, the machine looked stunning. I couldn’t help but admire my handiwork. To wrap things up, I ran some tests to showcase the build.

Tests included Master Lu, 3DMark, Chess Test, SSD Run, and Memory Test.

Master Lu scored nearly 33 points, which is impressive.

3DMark Fire Strike scored 5301 points, and Time Spy scored 3975 points, both exceeding expectations.

Scores like these are encouraging. SSD performance and memory tests are just benchmarks, but the real test will be long-term stability and usability. Overall, the build looks fantastic, and the red-themed PC feels very satisfying.
