Taiwan motherboard manufacturer Q3 sales soared

The main board market received the impact of the economic crisis in the first half of the year, coupled with the original off-season sales, domestic and European sales are not ideal, several major motherboard manufacturers in the second quarter of 2010 shipments are generally not high. However, after entering July, the European market has gradually warmed up. The sales volume in the domestic market has increased. The July performance has improved compared to June, and the sales volume has increased by approximately 20%. In the third quarter, the shipment volume will increase by 15% to 20% from the second quarter. .

MSI International announced its latest August revenue of NT$6.51 billion (approximately US$2.0372 billion), a decrease of 0.47% from the previous quarter.

The shipments of motherboards and graphics cards still cannot be accurately judged in the fourth quarter, but the number of orders has started to rebound since late July. MSI pointed out that sales in the United States have stabilized since the beginning of the year, and the European situation is far less than expected. However, the European market can see from the third quarter that it has begun to recover.

In China, MSI's summer promotion has not achieved the expected results. MSI believes that the forthcoming National Day will be a peak period for computer sales during which price war will be inevitable. If the sales volume is still weak in the second half of the year, sales in the first half of the year will be similar to those in the first half of the year.

For the graphics card market, MSI pointed out that global shipments are expected to decrease by 10-15%, and the average sales price will increase by about 30% compared with 2009. Since the demand for the Chinese graphics card market is mainly entry-level products, coupled with the government's recent policy on housing and stock market regulation, domestic demand for graphics cards will drop by 20-30% year-on-year.

In the first half of the year, shipments performed worse than expected. Motherboard manufacturers began rushing into the third quarter peak season. They hoped that they could successfully accomplish the full-year target. Asustek invested a lot of money in the marketing war and brought pressure to Gigabyte and MSI.

Asustek and Gigabyte internally set high standards for shipments in 2010, which were 25 million and 18 million respectively. In the first half of the year, shipments were lower than expected, the business marketing team began intense advertising in July. Marketing war, hoping to sprint shipments in the third quarter.
