Apple CEO Cook believes that AR will become a big opportunity after the mobile phone

Last week, Apple CEO Tim Cookma visited France, Germany and the United Kingdom non-stop. Cook was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Glasgow and talked to 1,100 students at the school.

In addition, Cook also visited the video game maker USTWO's London office, which includes Whale Trail and Monument Valley. There, Cook accepted an interview with TheIndependent, and the interview did a compilation that did not change the original intention.

Q: What do you think of the conversation with students at Grasse University on Wednesday night?

Cook: The students are very active and the number and quality of their questions are impressive.

Q: Your schedule this week is very busy. How do you maintain your energy?

Cook: Those who I visited gave me the motivation to stick to it. At the last stop, I visited the Woodberry Down School, where the children used the iPad to learn in the classroom. And the teachers have found a way to integrate the iPad into the teaching, not just the teacher speaking above, the children looking at the screen.

When the latest technology and education are combined, children become more focused than ever. One group of children is learning how to program in Swift through the iPad. They learn how to program through a game, which allows children to stay focused and devote themselves to learning. The teacher first let the children try to program through the game, then explain, and then proceed to the next process. These children are very happy because many children live in remote areas and are not exposed to these latest technologies at home. Introducing the iPad into teaching has improved the fairness of education. Things like this are the source of my spirit.

Q: Are you a fan of USTWO and Monument Valley?

Cook: I really appreciate the games they developed. These games are unique. Most games are currently shooting or other similar types. Monument Valley has its own core thread. When playing games, it allows me to feel the progress of the story, just as exciting as watching Disney's story. This is very attractive for non-gaming enthusiasts.

Q: You met with a lot of app developers this week and showed them the possibilities of the App Store and Apple hardware. What is the effectiveness of these meetings?

Cook: Their efforts and results are unbelievable. For developers to come, they have ideas in their minds, and then they can implement their ideas through mobile applications, these developers can be regarded as entrepreneurs. Before the birth of the App Store, those very young entrepreneurs did not have this opportunity. The App Store allows these developers to distribute their own games or other apps to consumers around the world. Now, this successful story is everywhere. Currently, there are about 250,000 developers in the UK developing apps for the iPad and iPhone. They have developed more than 100,000 apps, which is a great achievement.

Here (UK), you can see that the entrepreneurial community is accelerating. This is very important for the UK that is about to leave the European Union. People who see this entrepreneurial trend will say, "You know, the situation is not so bad now, and some good things are happening." This gives me More motivation to talk to developers, talk to students in the classroom, they are using Apple's technology to learn faster and better. Watching their passion for pursuing them is an exciting thing.

Q: The iPad was a success when it came out. The reason for success is not only because of its hardware, but also because of its intuitive, flexible software and the endless creativity of developers. One of Apple's most important tasks is to provide developers with high performance and hardware for the application. Excuse me, what are the difficulties in keeping the hardware iterative speed to meet the needs of developers?

Cook: We are working hard to do more for developers. In addition to hardware, we also provide them with more and better development tools, so that they can fully exploit and utilize the performance of Apple hardware. This is also the core of our own development of the Swift language. We hope that in the future, more developers will be able to develop applications through Swift and enable them to better utilize the performance of Apple's latest hardware.

Our future roadmap will continue to drive improvements in hardware performance. We have the ability to design our own chips, which is very important to us. And with the development of areas such as machine learning, the importance of this ability is increasing. This means we will provide our customers with higher performance hardware that will benefit them. At present, Apple has attracted tens of millions of registered developers worldwide, and we will see more innovations from them in the future.

Q: You mentioned that AR technology has made you very excited. What are the reasons for you to be optimistic about the future of AR technology?

Cook: The virtual world created by VR technology isolates users from the outside world, and AR technology can interact with the real world, which is why I am so excited about AR. Most people don't want to be isolated from the real world for a long time, and under the current technical conditions, wearing a VR helmet for a long time can be dizzying and uncomfortable. But AR does not have this limitation. He will not limit you to a virtual world, but will turn it into a part of the real world, allowing the two to coexist harmoniously.

I think AR is the next big opportunity after the smartphone. Smartphones are for everyone, not just for a specific group of people, countries or vertical cities. I think there is a big opportunity in the AR field. I am excited about this because AR technology not only improves our lives, but it is also entertaining. I think AR is like a chip in the iPhone. It is not a stand-alone product, but a key technology. But before this technology is mature enough, there is still a lot of work to do to make it mainstream. I think that AR technology can play a big role in people's daily lives, which is why I am so excited about AR.

Portable Power Station

A portable power station is the best option if you need to juice up common personal electronics and small appliances while spending long periods of time away from household AC outlets, or if you want to have backup power ready to go in case of an emergency.

They have enough capacity to power a few small appliances for a short time. With a host of different outlets (standard 120v outlets, USB ports, and DC chargers), you can use the station to charge electronics, too. And the units often come with portable solar panels, to add more charging capabilities and extend runtime.

UPGRADED 250-WATT POWERFUL AC, USB AND 12V OUTPUTS: Comparing to similar Battery powered generators, Rockpals RP250W portable generator has upgraded the AC output to 250W continuous (300W surge max) dual AC outputs, built-in 2x USB 2.1A and 4x DC 12V ( 60W ) ports. Perfect emergency backup power for home/ travel/ camping, charging up your tablets, iPhone, iPad, laptops, fans, TV, lights and CPAP machine (*Use DC converter from your CPAP would get longer hours)
