Improving localization is the number one priority

Experts attending the meeting said that in the era of new joint ventures, local enterprises lacked funds, not simply lack of technology, but used foreign capital to promote growth, establish global industrial thinking, and build a global value chain. Take Tesla as an example, it is a US company itself, but its battery is made in Japan, and the motor is selected from the Bay. It only integrates the best resources in the world in the same value chain and captures the market commanding height as quickly as possible.

Wang Zhile, founder of the Beijing New Century Multinational Corporation Research Institute, believes that at present, the gap between China’s three power core technology levels and the so-called international advanced level is not large. Chen Quanshi, director of the Electric Vehicle Research Office of Tsinghua University, mentioned that there are often online car and time-share leasing operators who ask him if there is a B-class electric car suitable for official use. The answer is no. In his view, at present, there is a serious shortage of mid- to high-end electric vehicle products with moderate prices in the Chinese market, and this gap is precisely the advantage of the joint venture.
