Under the theme of “Infinite Lightâ€, LG Display will emphasize the flexibility and inspiration of exceeding the limits, and open up various innovative OLED lighting products.
LG Display's Luflex OLED lighting panel uses a thin and soft form factor, which is lightweight and can be uniquely designed to provide a soft natural light that reduces blue light and reduces eye fatigue. Luflex is a compound word for the glamorous Latin word "Lux" and the English word "Flex" which means physical form and application flexibility.
The most notable thing is that the Luflex panel does not affect any function, and the panel can be rolled up to a minimum radius of 30 mm. The thin panel thickness of 0.41 mm is very special compared to traditional light sources, and its design looks stimulating creative imagination and design potential.
LG Display will expand its OLED lighting panel to the world's first Crystal Sound OLED (CSO) technology for its TV panel, and plans to introduce its CSO lighting products. The thin paper-like OLED lighting panel itself can play the role of the speaker vibration board, and the harmonic generator vibration panel installed behind the panel makes the panel, such as the vibrating plate, generate sound itself. In addition, the Luflex panel was released at the 2016 International Light and Building Exhibition (Light+Building 2016), as was introduced at the time, through the indium tin oxide (Metal Mesh) transparent conductive film bonded to the glass. Luflex gained more support after LG Display expanded its production capacity. In December 2017, LG Display built a 5th generation (1,100mm x 1,250mm) OLED lighting panel production line that can produce 150 million pieces per month at the Gumi Plant in South Korea. Compared with the original 2nd generation production line with a monthly average of 4,000 sheets (370mm x 470mm), it can be said that the production capacity has increased by more than 30 times. The production volume of the new production line is expected to increase again.
