At the start of the new year, Yap Optoelectronics, a leading developer and global supplier in the optical device industry, officially launched its symmetric 10G XGS-PON ONU optical module. This advanced module offers four times the upstream bandwidth compared to traditional XG-PON modules, operating at 9.953 Gbps. It utilizes a 1270nm DFB laser for upstream transmission and a 1577nm APD receiver for downstream, ensuring high-speed and stable performance. Compared to the 10G EPON PR30 mode, this module significantly improves bandwidth utilization, enabling faster upload speeds that meet the growing demands of service users.
The XGS-PON ONU is designed with SC/APC optical interfaces and is available in both commercial and industrial grades, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. It features a self-diagnosis reporting function for rogue ONU states, allowing the detection time to be set from milliseconds to seconds before leaving the factory. Additionally, the rogue ONU flag can be cleared either through software or hardware pins, enhancing system reliability and maintenance efficiency.
In terms of environmental and safety compliance, the product meets rigorous standards. It is compatible with ESD requirements such as MIL-STD-883E Method 3015.7, EIA/TIA 455-129 (FOPT-129), and IEC 61000-4-2. The electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance complies with FCC 47 CFR Part 15, Class B, while laser safety adheres to FDA 21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11, as well as EN60825-1 and EN60825-2. The module also meets RoHS requirements, ensuring environmental responsibility and safety.
Currently, the product is expected to enter the small batch shipment phase in the second quarter of 2018, marking an important milestone in the development of high-speed fiber access solutions.
